Football is one of Americas passions for good reason. Many people enjoy playing the game just for the sheer fun of it, while other strive to be the best player they can be. Ultimately there are people who become professional players. But no matter your reason for playing, here are some tips to help you improve your game.

There is no "I" in football. Its all about supporting each other. Dont ever be a ball hog! Instead, support your team and focus on the win as a team.

Do not begin a game of football without wearing all of your safety equipment. The chance of a severe injury is extremely high. If you dont possess the right equipment, avoid playing. Injuries include fractures and bone breaks, paralysis and even major brain injuries. You may never be able to play again.

You should practice all of the positions so that you can easily slip into one if the need arises. Even if you normally play defense, practice throwing the ball and you might actually get to play as quarterback someday. If you are well rounded, the coach will appreciate your dedication.

Nutrition plays a large role in a successful football players life. Football players exert tremendous amounts of energy during practice and games; therefore, it is important to eat enough calories to keep your energy levels at peak performance. Eating a variety of lean proteins and complex carbohydrates help give you the energy you need.

To be the best football player that you can be, proper nutrition to fuel your body is essential. Empty calories from soda and fast food should be avoided. Instead, eat whole grains, proteins, fruits and vegetables to provide your body with the energy it needs to keep you going all game long.

As you can see, there is much to learn about football and how to be a better player. The key to being a great player has as much to do with physical skills as it does with your attitude on and off the field. Use the tips from above to become a better all around player on the field.
